Tiny Update

So many changes in a relatively short amount of time.

Last we visited, I was excited to be embarking on a new journey which included, but was not limited to, learning more about the brain.  Since then, I have received on-the-job training in conducting QEEGs, also known as brain mapping, as well as setting patients up on neurofeedback.  My job has transitioned to a career.  Something I see myself doing for years to come.  This transition has been tough.  Real tough.  And that is putting it extremely mildly.  My thirst for knowledge is endless but asynchronous schedules and other not-to-be mentioned limitations have prevented me from learning the information I really yearn for.  Until now.  I am super excited to start the process of being certified as a QEEG Technologist.  It will not be easy and is definitely a huge time and monetary investment.  But so is anything that will further my knowledge and education within this field or any other field.  In short, I am excited and scared (extremely scared).  But as Richard Branson once said, "If your dreams don't scare you, they are too small."

Are you an aspiring QEEG Tech but don't know where to start?  Allow me to point you toward a good starting point.  IQCB stands for the International QEEG Certification Board and outlines the steps needed to get started on a certification quite clearly.

To learn more about Neurofeedback, like super extensively, I would suggest reading one or all of the following three books.  I know I have definitely benefited from them!

If anyone who happens upon this little post has experience in quantitative EEG work, please leave a comment.  I would love to pick your brain and learn about the field from a different perspective.

Thank you and I'll see you next time!
